TitleCopy of an Executive Committee report concerning the Government Grant
DateNovember 1900
DescriptionDraft report with manuscript corrections in pencil. The report outlines when the various installments of the grant will need to be paid, in order to cover various expenses before and during the Antarctic Expedition. The first installment was paid in August 1900, and the Government intends to pay a second installment in August 1901, a third in August 1902, and a final payment in 1903. However, most of the expense will be incurred in 1901 during preparations for the expedition, and it is recommended that a request is made to have all the money paid in 1901, or at least two installments of it with the final payment in 1902. The report also outlines progress in the preparations for the expedition, including actions carried out by Commander [Robert Falcon] Scott. Also recommends the appointment of Albert Armitage as the navigator for the expedition, and discusses salaries for various expedition members and officers.
