DescriptionWriting to Kempe in his capacity as a member of the Joint Committee for the National Antarctic Expedition. Following the resignation of Professor [John Walter] Gregory, the Officers of the Royal Society are proposing to appoint Dr [George] Murray to the now-vacant post of Director of the Civilian Scientific Staff. He is currently appointed as the deputy-director. Murray will still leave the Expedition at Melbourne as originally planned.
