Title | Letter from Robert Chalmers, 35 Lonsdale Road, Barnes, to [Alfred Bray] Kempe |
Creator | Chalmers; Robert (1858-1938); 1st Baron Chalmers |
Date | 19 August 1901 |
Description | Has received Kempe's letter enclosing another one from [Louis] Bernacchi. Longhurst is away, but Chalmers agrees that money must be found for Bernacchi's visit to Potsdam. He should send in a detailed account with dates, as Kempe suggested. Chalmers also agrees that Bernacchi must consider his travel to Melbourne, but would need a good cause to show why he shouldn't travel on the cheaper ship on 13 [September]. Chalmers will support whatever Kempe decides in the matter. Kempe and [Edward Lygon Somars] Cocks will likely have to issue money without a formal minute [from the Committee] for now, but they will regularise this when they next meet. |
