The formal instructions given to [Robert Falcon] Scott do not mention a second relief ship, and some instructions for this must be agreed with the Royal Geographical Society. The relief ship should not carry any letters from [Sir Clements] Markham that would curtail Scott in any way. With various crossings out and amendments throughout the draft. |
