Title | Letter from Alexr [Alexander] Anderson, Ely Place, Galway, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Anderson; Alexander (1858-1936); Irish physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 23 April 1899 |
Description | Thanking Larmor for his congratulations on Anderson's appointment [as President of Queen's College, Galway]. It came as a surprise, because he thought his chances were exceedingly small. People in the college and town are pleased about it, but some disappointments are inevitable. They are busy at present and he will stay at Sidney [Sussex College] during the Stiles celebrations. He has not written about that yet, and if there is no room, he will avail himself of Larmor's kind offer to stay at John's. |
