| Description | A friend in London has forwarded a copy of Larmor's letter to The Times in which he says that Americans are the closest friends of Britain in their branch of science. The friend wonders how this tallies with Cambridge University's attitude to volume 2 of See's Researches. See himself has never complained about Cambridge, believing that his views are also held by progressive workers. However in another test, in 1914 he sent a message to Lord Rayleigh for the Royal Society announcing his discovery in gravitation. The memoir will go the the Society in two weeks and they will see what will happen. The results will be impossible to deny and Larmor will be astonished at some of the results. 'It will prove a ray of light from heaven in this terrible war'. |
