TitleLetter from Herbert Samuel, His Majesty's Post Master General, to Sir Joseph Larmor
CreatorSamuel; Herbert Louis; first Viscount Samuel (1870-1963); British politician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); British theoretical physicist
Date6 August 1913
DescriptionThe contractors for erection of wireless stations will have no control over them once completed. They are responsible for the stations being efficient for their work, but any changes in specification desired by Government must be accepted by them unless they can show reason against. The erection of three more stations of the chain of six may or may not be entrusted to the Marconi Company. Once complete the Government is free to make any changes it chooses. The Scientific Advisory Committee may render useful advice and members of Lord Parker's committee have promised to lend assistance. Samuel is engaged in the organisation of a scheme of research into wireless telegraphy and he hopes that Larmor may co-operate with this.

With some pencil annotations by Joseph Larmor.
