TitleLetter from C J T [Clarence John Threkeld] Sewell, Lancing College, Shoreham by Sea, Sussex, to Sir Joseph Larmor
CreatorSewell; Clarence John Threlkeld (1884-1912); British clergyman and mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date24 July 1910
DescriptionHe is sorry to hear that there is another mistake in his earlier paper, which invalidates the results of the second paper. His method of estimating the effect of a crowd of partcicles is one used by Lord Rayleigh, he thinks, from volme 4 of his scientific papers. He is not quite clear about Larmor's meaning in the energy emitted by a single particle, asking if it is equivalent to the loss of energy in primary waves in the case of a single particle. Sewell would very much like to come to Cambridge to talk to Larmor, but not before Saturday morning. He feels he ought to understand, but cannot see the difficulties.
