| Title | Letter from W N [William Napier] Shaw, 10 Moreton Gardens, Old Brompton Road, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Shaw; Sir William Napier (1854-1945); British meteorologist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 13 November 1905 |
| Description | He asks if Larmor will accept the enclosure as evidence of the eleven year periodicity of wheat yield. He explains the two curves, and states that he is not prepared to say that the shorter period components are harmonious but they are near for the data which does exist. If it is accepted that the values for 1885-1889 are fictitiously low then the observations and calculations are not casual coincidence. He wonders when the parallelism will stop. Shaw's wife sends photographs [not present] with the request that Larmor sends one to his brother. |
