| Description | Plummer has written the enclosed paper on aberrration [not present] on which he has done a great deal of work. He has read all he can on the subject, incuding [Henri] Poincaré. Plummer has concluded that, allowing for Relativity, there is a theoretical possibility of measuring the absolute velocity of the Earth, via the square of the aberration. Turner gives references to key parts of the paper, asking if Larmor would look at his argument, to see if there any flaws in it. He asks if Larmor would send the paper to the Secretary of the Royal Astronomical Society for Friday's meeting, unless he finds a flaw. |
