TitleLetter from Vito Volterra, Via in Lucina 17, Rome, to Sir Joseph Larmor, Cambridge
CreatorVolterra; Vito (1860-1940); Italian mathematician and physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date15 January 1921
DescriptionHe thanks Larmor for a letter and Volterra notes a solution to a problem which he does not think useful for the application of Green's method. He asks for a physical interpretation of the two cyclic solutions for equations, and equations for the double refraction, which seem to have no applications. He asks how the English office of inventions was transformed after the war, noting what was founded in France and America. There is a project in Italy waiting for the approval of Parliament
