| Description | Larmor was wrong about his guess as to the complex locus, which is of the fourth order and contains the circle at infinity once, referring to an accompanying sheet [not present]. The system of lines tangent to a surface is a case of a complex, he states, but for any point on the surface th cone becomes the tangent plane double. He concludes that the surface is part of the locus and then the other part must be a sphere. He continues to discuss his problem on lines and planes, giving two equations. |
