| Description | Larmor is sorry that urgent work has prevented him from considering Taylor's last note. He quite understands Taylor's proof and discusses this. 'I think we are entitled to say that the isoptic locus which corresponds to an infinite pure imaginary angle between the tangents includes all the tangent from I and J to the curve as part of it'. He discusses the isoptic locus, concluding that 'it is treading closely in the metaphysics...which [Arthur] Cayley mentioned in his B.A. Address as unexplored country'. He does not think it a good division of kinematics to make roulettes and glissettes a seperate subject. |
