| Title | Letter from James Dewar, Royal Institution of Great Britain, London, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Dewar; Sir James (1842-1923); British chemist and physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 20 November 1906 |
| Description | He submits meekly to Larmors censure on his method of condensed publication, but no defence of objectionable misrepresentation can be made on this account. He thinks that the points on pressure in his 1904 paper were clear, and he explains them. He thinks that [Frederick] Soddy is using the Proceedings paper as an effective advertisement for the calcium process. Soddy is making his first appearence as a potential candidate for the Royal Society and those who are capable of judging will not be deceived. He fears that the Royal Society will be taken as approving, and wonders if he must be put to the trouble of a rejoinder to Soddy's paper, concluding in the same vein. |
