| Title | Letter from James Dewar, Royal Institution of Great Britain, London, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Dewar; Sir James (1842-1923); British chemist and physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 9 January 1907 |
| Description | In his letter of 5 January, Larmor stated that he would gladly answer Dewar's questons as far as it was in his power to do so. Dewar thinks he has asked the same question several times, which Larmor has evaded, and he wonders if he should consider this fair dealing between two scientific men. Larmor has asked him to make a definite appeal, as if he had not done so on 13 December. He thinks this is now 'legal quibbling' and questions actions following Larmor's letter of 25 December. Dewar did not ask that Dr. [Joseph Edward] Coates's paper should not be published, rather amended by the Secretary and in this he has failed. He will not take up Larmor's offer of visiting the Royal Society to peruse a proof of the Coates paper marked 'for Press'. |
