TitleLetter from G [George] Chrystal, 5 Belgrave Crescent, Edinburgh, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorChrystal; George (1851-1911); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir; Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date30 March 1909
DescriptionContinues discussing his views towards how the Royal Society is run, although disputes Larmor's perception that Chrystal has any 'aversion' to the Royal Society. Chrystal notes that his only dislike is the election method, which he describes as 'an absurd relic of the snobbish era of its history'. However, he states that if he lived closer to London and had money to spare he would join, 'not that I might boast of your society, but that I might enjoy it'.
