TitleLetter from Arch [Archibald] Geikie, Dunbar, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorGeikie; Sir Archibald (1835-1924); British geologist and historian
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date17 September 1906
DescriptionLarmor's letter reached Geikie as he was travelling to Aberdeen. He has read [Charles] Chree's letter. Helping Milne woudl be good for British seismology, but 'he is a most difficult man to help, touchy to a degree and nervously afraid of interference'. It is difficult to make suggestions to him without hurting his feelings. He might listen to suggestions from Lord Rayleigh and they shoudl discuss the matter. Geikie mentions the meetings of the Franco-Scottish Society and relays his Aberdeen address.
