| Title | Letter from E B [Edwin Bailey] Elliott, 4 Bardwell Road, Oxford, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Elliott; Edwin Bailey (1851-1937); British mathematician |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 13 October 1905 |
| Description | Elliott has been shorcked to hear of [Henry William] Lloyd Tanner's loss of health and memory. When they met last year, the painful changes were plain to see, but the anxiety that he might end his days in poverty was new. Elliott thinks this is a strong case for the Royal Society Scientific Relief Fund, wondering if Larmor is already working on this. Cardiff will remember his fine work, and the Royal Society will recall his tact as local secretary for the British Association in Cardiff. Elliott would wish to express his admiration for Tanner's scientific distinction and character. |
