TitleLetter from Oliver Heaviside, Bradley View, Newton Abbot, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorHeaviside; Oliver (1850-1925); British physicist and electrical engineer
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date16 November 1897
DescriptionHeaviside gave up rotational aether with either E of H as its velocity some time ago, except as an analogy. But if Larmor has solved the problem of the difficulty of polar-circularity of a vector, Heaviside will clap him on the back. He thinks that Larmor identifies himself too strongly with the rotational aether hypothesis, as his electronic investigations stand by themselves.
