| Title | Letter from Oliver Heaviside, Bradley View, Newton Abbot, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Heaviside; Oliver (1850-1925); British physicist and electrical engineer |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 4 November 1904 |
| Description | He thinks if would be as well if the Royal Society handled medal awards privately, as proposals, to avoid any fuss in the press. Heaviside has never written for medals but on looking at the Yearbook he sees that the Copley Medal is the highest award. He would not decline this, but he does not anticipate it will be offered, and he would live contentedly without it. |
