| Title | Letter from R T [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook, the National Physical Laboratory, Bushy House, Teddington, Middlesex, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Glazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 10 January 1905 |
| Description | Larmor will receive a draft of the memorandum for consideration, and he regrets not having time to discuss it. Regarding Sir G. Murray's stipulation, there will be no difficulty about [Charles] Chree and the superintendent's post. Their Lordships may not consider the document sufficiently respectful and it may need to be softened. £6,000 is not much compared with £16,000 in Germany and £19,000 in America. The document is addressed to the Society, not to the Treasury, and the Society's formal letter of acceptance might be enclosed with the memorandum. He encloses a letter from [Louis] Bernacchi. Chree told Glazebrook that Bernacchi wished to do the pendulum observations himself, which he would need to put into writing. Glazebrook discusses areas of responsibility. |
