TitleLetter from R T G [Richard Tetley Glazebrook], the National Physical Laboratory, Bushy House, Teddington, Middlesex, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorGlazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date16 July 1907
DescriptionHe hopes to meet Larmor at the meeting of the Governor of the New Technical Institute, having several points he would like to discuss. The Board of Trade has written to the Royal Society asking for nominations to a committee for organising an electrical conference, and he hopes that Larmor will serve on it. The Board of Trade proposes to write to Lord Rayleigh to ask for a representative to the Congress. Glazebrook lists other official representatives, hoping that Kelvin will have some honorary position, while Rayleigh should be President, although the choice might be left to the Congress. He would also like to talk about more scientific representation. On [F.E.] Smith's papers, it would be important to have them all printed before the conference. The cell paper is short ['The normal Weston cadmium cell'], and Glazebrook would prefer to have it in the Philosophical Transactions, rather than printed on its own. He discusses this and other, related papers, including 'The silver voltameter'.
