| Title | Letter from R T [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook, the National Physical Laboratory, Bushy House, Teddington, Middlesex, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Glazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 20 January 1908 |
| Description | He thanks Larmor for his letter, agreeing that he did well in having the position talked over thoroughly, and apologising for seeming pessimistic. He wanted Sir J.W. [John Wolfe] Barry to express his views clearly; the decision between 'contractual' and 'investigatory' was not easy. Glazebrook has not yet drafted a form for persons sending tests, but thinks it can be done properly and well. They have a favourable report which makes clear that investigatory testing of materials is within their province. He hopes that Council will accept the report. |
