TitleLetter from R T [Richard Tetley] Glazebrook, the National Physical Laboratory, Bushy House, Teddington, Middlesex, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorGlazebrook; Sir Richard Tetley (1854-1935); British physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date8 December 1910
DescriptionHe thanks Larmor for his various letters and he understands the position with regard to [Robert Falcon] Scott's expedition. His views resemble Larmor's and he is glad they are not heretical. He thinks they must wait for the Admiralty to release records which the N.P.L. has on loan and they must raise the question of how such expedition records are to be dealt with. If Larmor would like to send him the Kelvin papers, he and Smith will go through them to suggest a course of action. It would be worth printing some of them in the same volume as the British Association reports. He notes printing being arranged with the Syndics, wondering if they might contribute to costs, and he considers the overall bulk of the publication. Glazebrook thinks there is some mistake as to [Sir William] White's term on the Executive Committee [of the N.P.L.], which he describes. White is also a member of the General Board, ceasing in December 1910, but this does not impact his Executive Committee appointment. [Robert] Harrison is dealing with the matter.
