| Title | Letter from David Gill, 34 De Vere Gardens, Kensington, London, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Gill; Sir David (1843-1914); British astronomer |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 17 October 1910 |
| Description | Gill has had several visits and letters from Lady [Margaret Lindsay] Huggins concerning the Herschel publications. Although private, she has given permission to share points within the correspondence with Larmor. Gill lists these points, notably that Mr. Wesley believes he has experience in reproduction and should be on the committee, and that the papers would best be rendered by chemical or photographic means; the plates are bad he thinks and printing should be stopped. Gill notes the presence of Sir William Huggins on the committee when decisions were taken about printing, and Gill has seen both good and bad plates. He asks to discuss the matter with Larmor at the Royal Society. |
