| Title | Letter from George E [Ellery] Hale, Carnegie Institution of Washington, Mount Wilson Solar Observatory, Pasadena, California, to Sir Joseph Larmor, St. John's College, Cambridge, England |
| Creator | Hall; George Ellery (1868-1938); American astronomer and solar physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 12 November 1912 |
| Description | Thanking Larmor for his two letters and the solution regarding the 100-inch disk. Mr. [Robert] Harrison sent him the list of delegates to the Royal Society celebration, and Hale asked for the original list of invitees, so as not to overlook anyone who had not accepted. He notes that the British Government was beaten on the question of Home Rule, which may mean an election and the return of the Unionist party. He was disappointed that Larmor could not come to America in the Spring, but he hopes for a good talk with Larmor and [Hugh Frank] Newall soon. In a postscript, he notes the pleasing election of Woodrow Wilson as U.S. President. |
