DescriptionWilliam Huggins writes that him and Margaret are happy to hear of Larmor being the next recipient of the Wilde Medal, and look forward to his lecture. [Albert Abraham] Michelson states he will be bringing some 'spectroscopic novelties' with him. Huggins is 'colouring a nearly white sapphire by means of the radiation of Ra bromide. The stone is becoming a fine topaz colour, and I expect Lady Huggins will wear it in a ring'. Margaret Huggins expresses her pleasure at Larmor's news and the beautiful design of the medal. She calls [Henry] Wilde an interesting man with 'a sad heart in one way poor man, for he does not think he has had the appreciation he deserves'. She compliments his paper on Bode's Law. She was disappointed by not being able to view Mercury on the 14th [November 1907].
