TitleLetter from Horace Lamb, 6 Wilbraham Road, Fellowfield, Manchester, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorLamb; Sir Horace (1849-1934); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date16 August 1910
DescriptionLamb thanks Larmor for his letter, thinking he must have been at the Mathematical Congress. He supposes that Larmor will receive a proof of the article on Analytical Dynamics for the E.B. [Enclyclopaedia Britannica] which is full of annoying misprints. Lamb will look after these, but asks Larmor to look for any serious defects, and notes changes he is contemplating. He supposes that Larmor will be busy with London University examinations and he will not expect a speedy reply. He made calculations about distribution of energy some time ago, but these are not as finished as Larmor would want, and Lamb has no materials where he is to pick up the thread.
