Title | Letter from Alex [Alexander] Larmor, The Academy, Londonderry, to Joseph [Larmor] |
Creator | Larmor; Alexander (d.1936); Irish mathematician and science educator |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 18 July 1893 |
Description | He thanks Joseph for the trouble he has taken over the bookcase. The felt carpet in the drawing room has been taken away, so he must replace it. He should reserve this for local upholsterers, either having the same or a Brussels, but some good rugs would not be out of place. He goes into detail on what he might require to furnish two master's sitting rooms, giving carpet dimensions and discussing room colours. He needs a good dinner service but this is less urgent. He has been occupied with going over the premises with tradesmen. He finds that it will cost £25 to compound for M.A. fees. |
