| Description | He encloses a draft preface for his book [not present] and asks for Joseph's criticisms. On the urging of Lowe, he sent in an application for Assistant Commissioner based upon his experience and his testimonials. Anderson of Galway considered himself debarred from giving a testimonial as two Q.C.G. [Queen's College, Galway] professor were candidates. It was too late to get any political influence, but it will increase the number of Presbyterian candidates. Dickey is in great hopes, having support from twelve Ulster members and others. Alexander discusses other candidates, concluding that 'the whole procedure is absurd'. |
