Title | Letter from O J L [Oliver Joseph Lodge], 2 Grove Park, Liverpool, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Lodge; Sir Oliver Joseph (1851-1940); British physicist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 1 November 1893 |
Description | He will try more carefully for a trace of aether glow in magnetic lines, but refers to a previous note of his on the subject. He attended most to CS2, the most difficult. He can get a finer result for air. If Larmor reads his paper he will see that Lodge does not believe that the earth carries any aether with it, and the atmosphere has nothing to do with it if it does. Larmor may not care what he believes as compared with Michelse. Lodge inclines to believe a fairly big density for aether. |
