Title | Letter from A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe, 19 Pembridge Square, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Kempe; Sir Alfred Bray (1849-1922); British lawyer and mathematician |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 7 July 1905 |
Description | He does not agree with Larmor's suggestion that he should make way for Rucker as one of the Catalogue delegates, since there would then be no Royal Society Officer representation. The President had overlooked that point and Kempe does not think that Larmor can withdraw since Council will not meet. He notes Larmor's observations on [Ludwig] Mond's interview with the President. The President has not asked for any suggestions as to what should be said to Mond, and Kempe suggests that it would be unwise to say anything yet. He was sorry to hear of Mond's communication and there may yet be trouble. Kempe has been working at the Royal Society all day, but cannot come tomorrow and will be at Bristol assizes for three days, giving his address. |
