| Title | Letter from A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe, 19 Pembridge Square, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Kempe; Sir Alfred Bray (1849-1922); British lawyer and mathematician |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 24 November 1906 |
| Description | Kempe has received Larmor's telegram. He has spoken with Geikie who thinks that Kempe should preside at the Anniversary Meeting [of the Royal Society] and the past-President should preside over the dinner. He saw Lord Kelvin recently and he was suffering so much it would be cruel to ask him to preside and [William] Huggins has been asked to do so. He has written to Lord Rayleigh with this information and asking to read his address. This is with [Robert] Harrison, except the final part relating to medals. Geikie will be at the Royal Society on Monday and they hope to have a reply from Huggins. He asks for Larmor's suggestions and if he should preside as Geikie suggests. |
