Title | Letter from A B [Alfred Bray] Kempe, 2 Paper Buildings, Temple, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Kempe; Sir Alfred Bray (1849-1922); British lawyer and mathematician |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 10 November 1907 |
Description | He thinks that Larmor should see the enclose letter [not present] whic has has shown to [Michael] Foster at the Royal Society, drawing Larmor's attention ot the last page. [Edward Sharpey-] Schafer's suggestion that [Archibald] Geikie should withdraw and go to 'The Times' is 'quite monstrous'. He thinks that Halliburton's letter to Foster must have been dictated by Schafer. He could not have asked Council to reconsider their decision against him. They were forced into having a special Council, as the President would not have been satisfied otherwise, but he cannot imagine their decision being reversed in favour of Geikie. |
