Title | Letter from C G [Cargill Gilston] Knott, 42 Upper Gray Street, Edinburgh, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Knott; Cargill Gilston (1856-1922); British physicist and mathematician |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 20 February 1910 |
Description | He was pleased to receive Larmor's corrections and the annotations are valuable. He did not know who to ask to act as critic, noting those who would have formerly corrected it, who are now unavailable. Tail asked him to write the piece, and if he had known what was involved, he would have 'fought shy' of it. He hopes that he has not omitted any important line of research and he found Larmor's works and [Paul] Drude's optics most valuable. |
