Title | Letter from R [Raphael] Meldola, 6 Brunswick Square Cleveland, Beech Road, Reigate, to [Joseph] Larmor |
Creator | Meldola; Raphael (1849-1915); British chemist |
Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
Date | 29 March 1913 |
Description | He was glad to see Larmor's letter in 'The Times'. The enclosure will interest him [not present]. It is a pity that the organic chemists writing for the 'Morning Post' and elsewhere did not ascertain what was really being done before going into print. Their letters have been overshadowed by arrogance and it is not to be wondered that business people are shy of men of science. Meldola has an abcess on his forehead which was removed by Sir Victor Horsley and he is healing well. In a postscript, Meldola says he wishes that Larmor had spoken out during discussion of the National Dye Scheme. |
