TitleLetter from H M [Hector Munro] Macdonald, 33 College Bounds, Old Aberdeen, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorMacdonald; Hector Munro (1865-1935); British mathematician
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date31 May 1907
DescriptionMacdonald had hoped to see Larmor at Cambridge. He asks how he found the Americans, hoping they gave Larmor something to eat and drink, while he would have given them 'strong food...and mental indigestion'. Macdonald is looking forward to receiving instructions on subjects he is unequal to. Macdonald's bank informed him that they had been unable to pay his subscription to the Physical Society of France and he asks which French bank has their account. He met [Ernest William] Hobson, whose next book is in press. Macdonald is hoping to get to the next meeting of the London Mathematical Society, but asks when Larmor might be able to come to Deeside.
