TitleLetter from E [Ernest] Rutherford, 17 Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorRutherford; Ernest; Baron Rutherford of Nelson (1871-1937); New Zealand physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date27 November 1909
DescriptionHe would be glad if the Royal Society Council would suggest representatives to the Radiology Congress throught the Board of Trade. Sir Joseph Thomson should be nominated as much is devoted to what he and his school have done. Strutt could represent radiology and [Frederick] Treves on the medical side. Larmor might be a member on general electrical theory. Good representation is important because the question of terminology in radioactive standards will arise, while Britain has played a prominent part in the subjects dealt with.
