TitleLetter from E [Ernest] Rutherford, Savile Club, 107 Piccadilly, to [Joseph] Larmor
CreatorRutherford; Ernest; Baron Rutherford of Nelson (1871-1937); New Zealand physicist
RecipientLarmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist
Date8 March 1919
DescriptionRutherford has received Larmor's Manchester letter and another at the Savile. He is taking a great deal of trouble on Rutherford's behalf. Larmor appreciates the possible difficulty with J.J.T. [Joseph John Thomson] in the laboratory. He has written to him about it, to get his views on working without friction. Much will depend on Thomson's personal attitude, but Rutherford feels that the issue should be cleared up, and there is 'the Manchester end' to be taken into account.
