| Title | Letter from E [Ernest] Rutherford, 17 Wilmslow Road, Withington, Manchester, to [Joseph] Larmor |
| Creator | Rutherford; Ernest; Baron Rutherford of Nelson (1871-1937); New Zealand physicist |
| Recipient | Larmor; Sir Joseph (1857-1942); Irish theoretical physicist |
| Date | 25 May 1919 |
| Description | Rutherford had been in Cambridge for three days and hoped to see Larmor, but he was in London. C.T.R. [Charles Thomson Rees] Wilson 'is likely to be taken over by the S.P.O.' Rutherford has spoken with him, and cannot blame him for wanting to move after twenty years at the same job. Rutherford must now recruit a good man, preferably young, someone who would concentrate on the optical side. He would like to hear from Larmor about available talent. |
