Date18 May 1895
DescriptionLord Kelvin intends to resign [as President of the Royal Society] and as many members of Council desire an expression of opinion, an informal but representative group of seventeen Fellows met at London University on 17 May to come up with resolution [Fellows listed, but the resolution not present]. Percy asks Larmor to sign the resolution if he is in agreement and when seventy signatures are collected they will send it to the President. They hope to avoid public notice and do not want to appear antagonistic to Council.
