DescriptionPerry has had a 'terrible time' and Colonel [Rookes Evelyn Bell] Crompton is greatly upset, but is not to be blamed. He lists the consequences of his accident: fifteen pieces of bone from his shoulder and three weeks without moving. It was the first time he had need of a surgeon. His niece has had a bad operation on her jaw, 'so it s a house of nurses'.
