Description | [Part of ] Plate 31 of Joseph Fayrer's "Thanatophidia of India..." Four line studies of snake anatomy with a key lettered A-D. The reptiles are: Daboia russelii [Russell's viper]; Naja tripudians [Indian cobra]; Bungarus fasciatus [banded krait]; and Ptyas musosis [oriental ratsnake]. Each pair of drawings is headed "Plate" but with no number, title or artist information. The number "3" is pencilled in several places and the key is similarly corrected. |
