DescriptionAttaches the [two page, typed] extract from the diary of Edward G Pickering at Victoria University on 28, 29 and 30 June 1900 giving an account of his visit to Manchester where he met the Schusters, Sir William and Lady Huggins, and Lord Rayleigh, attendeed the opening of both the New Physical Laboratory Rayleigh opened, and the John Hopkinson Electrotechnical Laboratory. Also gives account of the degree ceremony he attended on the Saturday, and the following banquet at which he gave a speech.
