| Title | Letter from Émile Hilaire Amagat, Paris, to [Arthur Schuster] |
| Creator | Amagat; Émile Hilaire (1841-1915); French physicist |
| Recipient | Schuster; Sir Arthur [formerly Franz Arthur Friedrich] (1851-1934); German physicist |
| Date | 17 October 1892 |
| Description | Amagat has returned from vacation and has seen translations of Schuster's inaugural address at the British Association in several journals. He was touched by having his name placed next to [Henri Victor] Regnault's, an honour which he does not deserve. On the same day he received news from its Secretary of his election as an honorary member of the Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society. He thinks that Schuster is responsible for his having this distinction and he notes how sensible he is of such considerations.. |
