DescriptionHas been engaged in preparing his botanical work for publication and would like to use three or four 'English Botany' plates. His daughter's activities in drawing plants on his behalf. Wishes to know what rate Sowerby can offer to produce 1,000 figures otherwise he will have his daughter's work engraved in Birmingham. Notes the intended publishing arrangements for 'Midland Flora', for use in female seminaries: 'in order to give a more religious, moral and useful impression to the youthful mind, which by degrees may damp and in time do away the rage for novel reading'. With a draft reply in pencil by Sowerby.
