| Description | Thanks Gladstone for a pamphlet. He is not prepared to go as far as Gladstone in Darwin's theory. Discusses variations in species but believes that the author 'has ridden his hobby a great deal too hard'. The question of the origin of man is closely connected and Stokes is not afraid to listen to any satisfactory evidence. However, he has 'not paid much attention to the Darwinian theory and hardly any to biology'. |
