DescriptionUndated instructions in Collins' hand marked at the back "for Oldenburg". Listing content of a letter to write to Slusius [René-Francois de Sluse] on various topics.

This includes the progress of the publication of [John] Wallis De Motu Statica Calculo Centri Gravitatis et Mechanica; the progress in editing [Isaac] Barrow's Optical and Geometrical Lectures as well as his treatise on curves requested by "some of the members of the Royal Society".
Mentions that Barrow has communicated a "universall Analyticall method... for the mensuration of the areas of all curves and their Perimeters etc." by Isaac Newton. Adds description of the method and copies out its conclusion.

Includes list of books to request from Slusius and announcing that Allestrie expects books out of Italy, including [James] Gregorie De Quadratura Circuli et Hyperbola [published in Padua 1667] and his Exercitationes Geometricae [London, 1668] which should be read together.

Paragraph regarding Isaac Newton on p.1 underlined. The content will be included in letter ultimately sent by Oldenburg to Sluse sent 14 September 1669 printed in 'Commercium Epistolicum' 1722 edition, page 93, paragraph XIII, copied in LBO/3/85.
