Description | Wayland stands by his assertions that he has asked O'Brien repeatedly to examine the stone age artefact collection in the possession of his office. O'Brien's reply seems to suggest that this was foredoomed to a refusal. A cursory examination was made of only part of the collection, with tens of cases not opened. Wayland considers this to have been an essential preliminary to fieldwork.
