TitleCopy letter, Percy George Hamnall Boswell, to Herbert Spencer Harrison, Royal Anthropological Institute, 52 Upper Bedford Place
Date19 November 1936
DescriptionHe delivered his Presidential Address to the Prehistoric Society yesterday, where four archaeological people approached him expressing regret that the Royal Anthropological Institute was re-summoning the Cambridge conference. It would be much better if the matter was droppped. Each had discussed the meeting with a number of other people and this feeling was general. This accords with Boswell's own views, and he explained that he was averse to appearing, but was being held to an earlier promise. He gathers that Leakey is also not keen on the discussion, although he has no definite information. The suggestion was also made that people would turn up for a 'scrap' and for the discomforture of one combatant. Boswell thinks they should do nothing to aid such folk.
